I now personally know how stubborn and stupid I was during my first attempts at sprite comics, and I've found an example of how it feels to be lashed at for critique. And it's frustrating, as well as shake-head worthy.

Hello, guys. I wanted to share with you a moment on DrunkDuck that I came across.

So there's this one user there who made a heavily-based FF sprite comic. To be honest, it hurts. It literally hurts looking at it. There are several things wrong with it, including poor effects, bad management with speech bubbles, bad grammar and spelling, and the sprites horribly clash, and the person often uses eye-stinging solo color paint-filled-in backgrounds to serve as the realm for his characters. Blech.

He whines about other users spamming and flaming him. How? By saying that he has to IMPROVE. No, seriously, he considers that spamming, because telling him to get better is apparently wrong and very unacceptable. You can toss insults like "omg u suck so hard go home and cry to ur mom" out the window, because advice is apparently the scripted evil of the now.

Not only that, but he claims that those people are mean, and before they even THINK of giving him critique, that they should look at the very page there and reconsider their rating and comment before posting. Pathetic. I've honestly no idea how old this kid is, but he's got to learn to grow up and listen to other stuff other than praise.

So after seeing that page, I decided to post a pretty damn big comment about how he shouldn't whine, and how giving advice is NOT spamming, but is rather helpful. My post, which I saved before he reported me (yes, reported; not muted, REPORTED) me: [link]

Lame. So very, very lame. It's pitiful. Tsk tsk tsk. But what will be even STUPIDER is if that report goes through and my comment actually gets erased. *sigh* I hope the admins aren't as childish as him. Seriously, is the kid 8 or something?

Sorry for snarling about this... This is just really too stupid to pass up and I haven't updated my journal in a long time either, so.

Did any of YOU guys think I was harsh? I was just saying what I felt was true :/ I did my best to not flame him, as that'd just make me look like a jackass.

Okay, so that DarthVaderS1999 kid has taken down his Life of the Organization whatever comic. That's good.

He made another FF-related comic in its place, using ACTUAL backgrounds and stuff. That's also good.

But... now he's ripping off material from a comic that me and Silversonic both work on: Final Fantasies Revived.

So not only does this kid have no real talent, he's also a total hack. At least, a hack to stuff that me and a friend of mine is working on. Great, just effin' great.

Though I MAY have drawn a conclusion as to probably why he's doing this...

Back on June 11th, the kid sent me a PQ. It was about joining FFR. Allow me to post it.

"Your final fantasy comic is AWESOME! Can I be in it? You can find my sprite sheet in my comic (Not the final fantasy comic). He can be a helper for the light warriors. or he can even join them O_O either way I wanna join and if I can have a biggish role so... pretty please? "

Naturally I told him it was up to SilverSonic as to whether or not we'd let him join because SS NEVER said anything about cameos. After a while of conversing, SS decided to not only flat-out reject his arse, but ultimately not let any cameos make it into FFR, and instead stick to making minor/supporting characters of our own.

With that decision made, I PQ'd DVS1999 back and told him "Sorry, but we don't do cameos, so you can't join." That may sound kinda stern, but it's the truth. We don't. And once I sent that to him, he never replied back.

So perhaps him making that comic is either him trying to emulate Final Fantasies Revived for HIMSELF, or he's trying to get back at me and Silversonic for not letting him cameo. :/ Either way, it's ridiculous.
